Sitting on Brecksville Road, a former Indian Trail. The tree out front was supposed to have marked the trail. A portion of the Farnam land is now part of Furnace Run Metro Park. It is located near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, one of the most visited parks in the U.S.

Built by Everett Farnam for his wife in 1834. Classic example of Western Reserve architecture In 1921, a madam from Akron added the extravagant front porch and Porte Cochere as well as the northwing extension. Housed the infamous Danish Smorgasboard restuarant. 1948-1972 Rumored to have been a brothel.
People:
John Farnam, pioneer settled the area in 1812 when it was still Indian territory. One of the first settlers west of the Cuyahoga River.
Everett Farnam, son of John who built the house in 1834 for his wife.
Emily (Oviatt) Farnam, wife of Everett raided 5 children in the house.
Emily Farnam, daughter of Emily and Everett drowned in a cistern at 7.
Ichabod (Timothy), lived up the road, kicked in the head by a horse and died a few days later.
Ella Mayer, the widow of the Akron Police chief bought of the property and operated an exclusive club for the Akron policeman.
Maryland (Marilyn?), reported to me a mistress waiting for a soldier to return.

Legends:
Many of the Farnam's have been seen and spoken to as they linger at the estate. The daughter Emily has been seen on many occasions. Playing in the front yard. Wears a white dress with possibly yellow and\or pink flowers on it. She has been seen in the kitchen. Sensation of hand holding in the house.
Ichabod (Timothy) likes to hide in the wardrobe and pop the door open when visitors are around.
Several people have seen a woman in a long white dress. Psychic reported that she was a mistress named Maryland, who is waiting for a soldier to return.
Front Bedroom: Everett Farnam passed away in the front bedroom in 1880. He took one last ride around his estate and said “My clock has run out”. Mr. Kirk passed away in the same bedroom in 1972. Soldier has appeared face down in front of the fireplace in the bedroom. A person has been grabbed by a shoulder, a candle stick has moved.
Other unexplained happenings:
Battery drains Camera malfunctions A family portrait pop up in camcorder viewfinders but disappears. Not recorded. Sensitive people have had a feeling of nausea and hot (when cold out). Picture found upside down in the frame. Creamer and sugar set seen vibrating in former buffet room of restaurant. Sensations of vibrations, touch, and electrical shocks have been felt. Lights will turn on and off, and also won’t turn on when the switch is flipped. Cat scratching and meow has been heard The drawer in bedroom opened on its own. Cold spots
